Capita Symonds has three operating divisions: Design & Infrastructure, Real Estate and Regions.

Design & Infrastructure

Executive Director: John Southgate

Our Design & Infrastructure division plays a lead role in shaping communities across the UK and around the globe. Our work touches every aspect of people’s daily life from their daily commute, to the spaces in which they work, live and play.

As the world moves towards a low carbon economy we are helping everyone from governments, to corporations and individuals make the transition to a more sustainable way of living - helping to develop new technologies such as carbon capture and storage, design more sustainable buildings and create new policies which will enable the adoption of cleaner and greener forms of transportation.

We partner with clients to help them achieve the optimum results for their projects based on their drivers and goals. Our integrated service, combined with creativity and commercial acumen; and underpinned by sustainability, ensures that we are able to create value and unlock new opportunities for clients.

In a rapidly changing world, we are working to identify the trends and drivers which will shape the future. Our think tank - Sustainability Lab - and the development of new propositions such as ‘Cool Workspaces’ are just some examples of this approach in action, bringing together industry specialists, clients and staff to explore, develop and implement solutions that enable us to address the challenges of the future head-on.

Design & Infrastructure operates across a number of sectors including commercial, energy, industrial, transport, education, health and defence. We offer our clients a wealth of expertise spanning building design which encompasses architecture, building services and structures, and infrastructure related services including regeneration, environment, planning, sustainability, technology, industrial and civil engineering.

Real Estate

Capita Symonds’ Real Estate division touches every aspect of property.

The division brings together the property projects, consultancy and outsourcing expertise of Capita Symonds, with the investment, agency and property services experience of NB Real Estate; a company acquired in 2010. 

Together we provide approximately 200 services associated with property. We focus on four key areas of property activity, where our market leading knowledge, know how and experience has been recognised – Advisory, Investment, Property Management and Project Delivery (in both the UK and Middle East),

With clients from both the public and private sectors, these investors, developers, property owners and occupiers have the ability to access one specialist service or package together any number of our services to meet their property needs. All our expertise is in house. This is what makes our business offering different and allows us to offer a ‘best in class’ service and work with clients who require a multi-dimensional property solution.

The service list is extensive and we operate in a wide range of sectors from education, hotels, sports and leisure to retail, offices, industrial and transport. Key services include: property transformation, consultancy, asset management, investment, agency, occupier services, property management, FM, building consultancy, H&S, project management, cost management, planning, design, quantity surveying and development.

By combining our expertise and experience with a collaborative approach and customer insight we are able to bring a fresh perspective across the property landscape, creating value for our clients.

Regions

Executive Director: Dave Spencer

Since 2001 Capita Symonds’ strategic partnerships have been transforming and improving the delivery of Local Authority services across the UK.

We are currently involved in nine such partnerships - encompassed by our Regions division - many of them offering a full range of multidisciplinary and technical professional services to the partnering councils as well as the broader private sector market and even other Local Authorities.

There is no 'one size fits all' solution; we develop and implement bespoke partnerships that establish a solid foundation through trust, commitment, openness, honesty, clear governance structures and realistic planning.

The central theme within our partnerships is growth. We are able to take Local Authority staff with tremendous potential and provide them with the training and empowerment to further develop their skills and seamlessly transfer them to the private sector. Subsequently, we are not only able to greatly enhance and improve the delivery of Local Authority services and deliver significant savings; we are also able to grow highly successful standalone businesses.
