In 2008, Capita Symonds launched BusinessWise – a
programme to help graduates learn key business skills to complement
their technical development.

The programme is delivered jointly by Capita Symonds and the
University of Salford and is one of the first joint initiatives of
its kind in the UK. The theory behind a number of business topics
is delivered by lecturers from the University and subject
specialists at Capita Symonds help to translate the theory into the
context of our business.
The 2 year programme is delivered from Capita Symonds offices
throughout the UK and includes a 2 day Away Day to Lledr Hall, an
outdoor education centre in the heart of the Snowdonia National
Park.
The programme is delivered in 4 modules: Effective
Management, Commercial Success, Responsible Business Practice and
Leadership & Empowerment and graduates achieve a Postgraduate
Certificate in Business Performance Management on successful
completion of the course.

BusinessWise was shortlisted for the Skills & Education
Award at the NorthWest Regional Construction Awards in 2009.

The University of Salford featured ‘BusinessWise’ as an exemplar
project at the Higher Education Expo at the Barbican, London in
November 2008 and will also be featured at the University
Vocational Awards Council conference on 5th November 2009.
