Qualifications: BSc MSc
Start date: October 2000
I have a geology and geography degree from Birmingham University and an MSc in surface and groundwater resource management from Huddersfield University. Since joining Capita Symonds I have worked within the Water Environment team on projects ranging from water balance studies for wetlands to flood risk assessments for highways schemes.
I was attracted by the range of projects on offer and the opportunity to work within a large team of environmental professionals.
I'm working on Flood Risk Assessments in Guildford, Tamworth and Dagenham, due diligence work for a proposed housing site in Lincolnshire, the outline design of a river restoration scheme in Stoke on Trent, and an Environmental Impact Assessment at Gravesend.
Over the last six years my role at Capita Symonds has developed from graduate through to project manager and team leader. Along the way I've been supported and mentored by my line manager and senior colleagues. I've also received formal training focused on career development and covering both technical and non technical aspects of my role.
