Our approach to delivery
Capita Symonds provides a full range of consultancy services to
waste operators - offering expert support in the development and
operation of waste management facilities from concept through to
operational monitoring. Through our experience we understand
the key issues that Operators face when bidding for waste contracts
or when submitting planning applications for their own
facilities.
As a truly multi-disciplinary consultancy Capita Symonds can
provide all the necessary management and technical skills required
from within the company to cover the full range of engineering,
transport and environmental disciplines.
Services
From the earliest planning stages we can address issues of need,
location, site suitability, planning policy context and
feasibility. We provide planning, design and environmental services
at planning application stage, and where required, can undertake
full Environmental Impact Assessments.
We also have particular expertise in ‘permitting’. For both
planning and permitting our aim is always to secure consents and
permits with the least onerous conditions, and hence least cost
attached.
For the feasibility, planning and detailed design stages we can
provide full design services including architectural, civil,
structural, mechanical and electrical engineering design, transport
planning, environmental mitigation and help to bid for OJEU or
similar contracts.
At the construction stage we provide tender and procurement
services, together with construction management, site supervision
and monitoring (technical, cost and environmental) enabling the
operator to secure the implementation of the works to programme and
cost and in accordance with planning and permitting
requirements.
Key Project
We support Veolia Environmental Services in the
procurement of major waste projects. We provided project management
and technical support to the procurement process, and advised on
the construction of multi-million pound infrastructure projects for
local authorities including EfW, MRF, waste transfer and composting
facilities.
