The Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA)'s 'Sustainable Buildings Awareness Raising and Knowledge Transfer Programme', run by CCI, aims to make public and private sector developers, local authorities, architects and contractors aware of its Sustainable Buildings policy and practice in the region, helping the North West move towards delivering a more sustainable built environment.

Urban Vision - Capita Symonds' joint venture with Salford City Council - is proud to be a partner in the North West Construction Knowledge Hub project, as part of the NWDA ‘Sustainable Buildings Awareness Raising and Knowledge Transfer Programme’.

Match funded through the NWDA, Urban Vision provides free support and guidance for small and medium size construction businesses in the North West, helping them become more profitable, productive and efficient, whilst reducing their environmental impact. Services offered by Urban Vision include:

  • Baseline Carbon Assessment using Carbon Calculator
  • System development in accordance with ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
  • Environmental process improvements
  • Sustainable procurement
  • Green travel plans

This conference has two key purposes: first to present the revised NWDA Sustainable Buildings Policy, and second to present ten construction projects in the region that have delivered environmental, economic and / or social sustainability.

The conference will look to highlight the achievements of key developments, but also the difficulties they had to overcome to deliver such projects. The projects presented will include shortlisted and winning schemes from the Northwest Regional Construction Awards as well as other exemplary projects funded by the NWDA.

As part of the conference, there will be an exhibition and following the formal presentations a representative from the respective project team will be available to answer any questions regarding the projects presented.
