Recent discoveries of vast reserves in the UK could
create thousands of jobs as well as reduce Britain's dependence on
foreign supplies of gas. In partnership with Durham University -
and sponsored by Capita Symonds - IGEM are hosting the
organisation's first Shale Gas conference on Thursday 28 March 2012
at Durham University.
Much debate and discussion will happen at the plenary sessions
regarding exploration practices, benefits of shale gas and also
debunk some of the myths surrounding the process of fracking. The
conference programme outlines the presentations which will
be delivered from recognized experts in all areas of the field
concerning shale gas, coupled with workshops and plenary
discussions, the IGEM Shale Gas Conference represents a unique
opportunity to inform the future directions of shale gas
exploitation, regulation and research in the UK, Europe, and
beyond.
