Capita Symonds has
appointed Richard McCarthy as executive director for central
government.
Richard (right) joins from the Department for Communities and
Local Government (DCLG) where he was Director General for
Neighbourhoods for eight years.
Richard will develop Capita Symonds’ provision of services to
the public sector, specifically central government, alongside the
wider Capita Group. Richard previously held positions at DCLG, the
Peabody Trust and Horizon Housing Group.
Richard McCarthy said: “I am looking forward to driving the
business forward in this sector and further cementing Capita
Symonds’ status as a leader in delivering a wealth of property and
infrastructure solutions.”
Jonathan Goring, Managing director, Capita Symonds, said: “There

Richard’s experience and enthusiasm relating to how public private
partnerships can achieve this will be invaluable in helping Capita
