Richard Nelson has joined Capita Symonds as a Business
Development Director for the company’s Design and Infrastructure
division.
Richard joins the company from Watkins Gray
architects in London where he was a Management Board Member and
Director of Business Development & Marketing. Prior to his role
at Watkins Gray, he was Regional Director at White Young Green
responsible for business development/marketing in London &
South East.
Richard also hails from the US where he spent
much of his early career with international architects Perkins +
Will.
Capita Symonds is currently involved in major
projects across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the
Caribbean such as the Seven Cities project in Al Gharbia, the
Western region of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Richard’s key experience includes:
- Developing new business with public, private
and voluntary sectors including government authorities, developers,
corporations, PPP consortia, institutions and charities.
- Developing and implemented a strategic
alliance programme to facilitate growth in sales nationally and
internationally, including the UK, Eastern Europe, India and the
US.
- Overseeing major project wins including major
office fit-outs for KPMG LLP, Barclays Capital and RWE npower; the
£200m Great Ormond Street Hospital Phase II redevelopment project;
master planning advice for eight large mixed-use developments in
Turkey and 25,000 new homes in northern Iraq; designs for a new
office tower in Eastern Europe for Hines; and a new operating
theatres building for Torun Hospital in Poland.
