Two Capita Symonds projects have been nominated at the RICS North
West Awards.
The Point, the new £12m hospitality and events
facility at Lancashire County Cricket Club’s Old Trafford ground,
was nominated in the ‘Tourism & Leisure’ category, while St
Peter’s Square, Stockport, was nominated in the ‘Commercial’
category.
The Point is part of the first phase of the
ground’s redevelopment which also includes a new outfield. A team
from Capita Symonds provided civil, structural and geotechnical
consultancy services on the first phase of the scheme on behalf of
the main contractor Morgan Sindall.
Meanwhile, Capita Symonds provided cost
management services on the £7.5m St Peter’s Square project in
Stockport on behalf of BAM Properties Limited.
St Peter’s Square is a 57,000 sq ft office
development on the site of the former Cannon Cinema in the centre
of the town It brings the first Grade A office building to
the town centre where most of the existing stock is dated and
expensive to maintain 1960s and 1970s vintage.
The building is part of wider plans to
transform St Peter’s Square into a new public square and cultural
quarter.
The landmark office building fronting the A6
features cutting edge design providing column free floor plate,
restaurant/showroom space and car parking.
The awards take place on 12th
May.
