The finals of ‘The V Factor’ competition - a talent showcase for
young people across Rhondda Cynon Taff in South Wales - have
taken place.
Organised by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council and
supported by Capita Symonds’ Glamorgan partnership, the competition
was open to young people across the Local Authority and comprised
four categories - Best Music Act, Best Dance Act, Best Musical
Theatre Act and Best Drama Act.
Over 600 potential stars of the future took
part in the event.
Capita Symonds supported the event by
sponsoring masterclasses for the finalists which were given by Amy
Wadge (singer/songwriter), Siwan Morris (actress), Richard Mylan
(actor/musical theatre), and Kate Lewis (dance). Capita Symonds
Directors Liane Sheppard, Ian Germain and Ian Walsh attended the
masterclasses which helped the budding stars fine tune their
performances in time for the finals.
The winners will perform at a regional concert
this month and then at the “In Tune With Youth” showcase at the
Wales Millennium Centre in October. They will also become Rhondda
Cynon Taf ambassadors for youth arts.
