New Recruit for Strategic Property & Workplace Projects team

8 September 2011

Simon Raper has joined Capita Symonds’ Strategic Property & Workplace Projects team as Associate Director.

He joins the company from S2F Pty Ltd - a leading architectural firm based in Australia - where he was a Project Director and Head of Office in Sydney.

Simon has almost 24 years experience across the fields of architecture, interior architecture and workplace design, developing a creative and fluid approach to the delivery of strategic workplace solutions, change management and business change consultancy services.

He has worked on numerous projects across the EMEA, USA, China and Australia, including directing a $2bn project for the Australian Department of Defence in Australia that delivered 120 new buildings and facilities across two sites in New South Wales for the training and development of the Infantry and Special Forces.

Simon has also managed a number of global commercial property portfolios for blue chip organisations such as the Royal Bank of Scotland Group and PricewaterhouseCoopers. His role included providing strategic project leadership and workplace and interior design direction on many large scale business transformation projects, leading the way in ‘new ways of working’ through applying proven methodologies and approaches to often complex and technically driven real estate issues.

Simon’s creative approach has seen him deliver successful projects across a number of sectors such as commercial office, education, healthcare, laboratories, pharmaceuticals and defence.

Capita Symonds’ Strategic Property & Workplace Projects team – part of the Consulting team in the company’s Real Estate Division – develops and implements innovative workplace environments for clients including the BBC, Network Rail and Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust.

David George, Director, Strategic Property & Workplace Projects, Capita Symonds, said: “Simon brings an enviable mix of complementary skills and experience to re-enforce and extend our key service offering of project leadership, workplace solutions and estate strategy advice. Our team has seen significant growth this year and whilst Capita Symonds is well known for providing these services to the public sector, Simon’s appointment is a significant step forward, supporting our ambitious business development plans to increase our presence in the private sector.”

Simon is also a Fellow of the Chartered Society of Designers.
