Urban Vision – Capita Symonds’ joint venture
partnership with Salford City Council – has announced that one of
its key projects - Ordsall Hall - has been shortlisted in the
‘Heritage’ and ‘Project of the Year’ categories at the North West
Regional Construction Awards 2012.
Ordsall Hall Museum is a Grade I listed
building in Salford, Greater Manchester. Urban Vision’s
mission was to restore and conserve the building and develop the
grounds to provide a sustainable base and hub for the local
community. Because of the significance of the building and site,
all repair, maintenance and conservation works were carried out in
compliance with best conservation principles, acknowledging both
the need to maintain and preserve the historic appearance and
elements of Ordsall Hall, whilst at the same time providing safe
access, circulation, and enhanced enjoyment of a very special
building by both staff and visitors.
Salford City Council, Urban Vision and Lloyd
Evans Prichard worked on the award submission jointly.
The winners of the awards will be announced on
31st May 2012.
