Capita Symonds unveils 2009 Success Awards winners

17 December 2009

Capita Symonds has unveiled the winners of its Success Awards 2009 – an annual internal awards scheme for employees which celebrates its culture of ‘successful people, projects and performance’.

Employees are invited to submit nominations in October every year to recognise and celebrate those individuals and teams that are inspirational examples of Capita Symonds' values in action, delivering real, mutual success to clients and Capita Symonds.

These nominations are then judged by a panel of representatives from across the business and announced every December at an Awards Ceremony at our Procter Street, London offices.

This year’s winners, and judges' citations, are:

successful people

Winner: Jon Baber, East Grinstead: "Energy, enthusiasm and commitment backed by unrivalled technical knowledge; this is what the Success Awards are all about. Jon embodies our values and leads by example; he wins work, he is a lateral-thinking designer, he can lead a team, he represents the UK on industry committees and he mentors our next generation of engineers. An outstanding candidate." View case study…

Commended: Victoria McCann, Blackburn (view case study). Jacqueline Hinton, East Grinstead (view case study).

successful projects

Winner: HQ Parkway Edge team, Sheffield: "This project brings together the best of everything 'Capita'. The judges were impressed with how the project was created; the initial team was clearly innovative and proactive in their approach to this project coming to fruition. A classic example of how a project can be successfully conceived and delivered to the mutual benefit of all parties. Clearly some excellent technical skills coupled with high quality management and cost control enabled this project to be delivered within the required constraints." successful performance

Winner: Business Transformation & Innovation (BT&I) team, London: "An unanimous decision. £350k profit…for little or no extra work…from the taxman. Not only do we have a new business stream, it is one that positively encourages us all to complete a bit of Research & Development. We certainly need to be innovative to stay ahead of the competition, particularly in these challenging times."
