Capita Symonds has announced the acquisition of structural
and civil engineering consultants NRM Bobrowski for an undisclosed
sum.
NRM Bobrowski – which has offices in London, Southampton and
Sheffield – will now be known as Capita Bobrowski.
Formed in 2004 following the merger of NRM Consultants and Jan
Bobrowski & Partners, the company has worked on a number of
high profile projects including –
Epsom Racecourse: NRM
Bobrowski is currently providing civil and structural engineering
services for the redevelopment of the main Grandstand area. When
complete in 2009, the venue for the Derby (one of the world’s most
prestigious flat races) will have a new 11,000 capacity grandstand
featuring plush conferencing and banqueting facilities.
- Goodwood Festival of Speed: NRM Bobrowski has
produced a series of spectacular central display sculptures for
this annual motoring event. Work has included a finely balanced
design featuring six Honda-powered Formula 1 cars and a 38m high
structure from which five Toyota Motor Sports cars – each weighing
up to a tonne – were suspended.
- Riverbank Park Plaza Hotel: Civil and
structural engineering services for 394-bed luxury hotel in central
London.
- Ipswich Football Club: Civil
and structural engineering services for the club’s grandstand which
provided the Portman Road ground with 7500 extra seats.
- Cheltenham Racecourse: NRM Bobrowski’s work at
Cheltenham has been ongoing for the past 25 years. Over this period
the scope of works has included masterplanning, a new grandstand,
parade ring, offices, stables and ancillary buildings.
- Newmarket Racecourse:
Designed the Millennium Grandstand at the ‘Headquarters of
Racing’.
- Riverlights Derby: Provided civil and
structural engineering services for this £83m mixed use scheme
featuring two hotels, casino, bus station, restaurants, residential
apartments and commercial office space.
- Lord’s Cricket Ground, London: Project managed
the replacement of the world famous cricket ground’s iconic canopy
roof in time for the opening of the 2006 cricket season.
- South Quay Footbridge: Designed this multi
award winning footbridge in the heart of London’s Canary
Wharf.
