Capita Symonds’ Blackburn office has appointed Adrian
Welsh as its new Director of Regeneration.
Adrian joins the company from internationally acclaimed
masterplanning firm EDAW AECOM where he was a Director of Design
and Planning at its Manchester office.
Adrian was born in East Lancashire and has over 20 years of
experience in the fields of design and regeneration having worked
across the UK and as far abroad as Singapore and China. He
has an extensive knowledge of the North West where he has
contributed to the formulation of a number of regeneration
strategies, area–based masterplans and planning policy
documents.
Adrian will be working in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen
Borough Council on projects within Blackburn town centre. He will
also be supporting other Capita Symonds offices engaged in
regeneration projects across other parts of the North West.
Adrian says: “To have such strong links with the area in which I
am working is fantastic. I have spent a substantial amount of time
working in the North West and it is reassuring to see the area’s
strategic plans now being translated into action on the ground,
while also strengthening the area’s unique character and
identity.”
“The regeneration and enhancement of our local towns and
neighbourhoods will continue to take the support and drive of many
different parties. I am looking forward to continuing this work and
working once again with Blackburn with Darwen, and other partners,
to help turn ideas and plans into deliverable and exciting new
projects using the resources and expertise of Capita Symonds,” he
adds.
