Capita
Symonds’ Commercial Director Chris Green has been appointed to the
Board of the RICS UK Quantity Surveying and Construction
Group.
The new Board will lead on QS and construction standards and
issues for RICS (the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) and
will be responsible for engaging with QS practices, members, and
governments in the UK and international markets. Members of the
Board are drawn from a variety of roles and practices across the
sector, in order to form a strong lead for RICS in the construction
field.
The Board begins its tenure at a time when the combination of
the current economic climate and demand for carbon and waste
reduction programmes place heavy emphasis on standards, best
practice and cost/waste efficiency in construction projects.
Commenting on his appointment, Chris said: “I welcome the
opportunity to help shape the strategic direction of the QS
profession that this appointment brings. This will give Capita
Symonds an amplified voice in the industry and I look forward to
working with RICS members and the Government to lead the industry
onto to a sustainable recovery path.”
Board Chairman, David Bucknall FRICS said: “The new QS board
will play a vital strategic role in ensuring that construction
issues are at the centre of RICS policy and standards agendas over
the coming years.”
