Capita Symonds has been chosen as preferred bidder by
Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council to develop a 10 year strategic
partnership to deliver a wide range of property and highway
services.
The agreement, valued at approximately £70 million, will
include:
- architecture and quantity surveying
- building maintenance and mechanical/electrical design
- engineering design
- estate management
- highways management and street lighting; and
- drainage
Paul Pindar, Chief Executive of The Capita Group Plc, parent of
Capita Symonds, said: “This partnership will support the Council’s
corporate objectives around performance, prosperity and
regeneration. We look forward to working with Sefton Metropolitan
Borough Council and its employees to ensure that the local
community benefits from first class public services.”
To support the delivery of the property and highway services,
approximately 150 Council employees are expected to transfer to
Capita Symonds under TUPE on 1 October 2008.
Further negotiations are taking place. The contract is expected
to be for a 10-year period with an option to extend for a further
five years.
