23 September 2010

Capita Symonds is a sponsor of the 2010 Civil Service Awards, which has announced its shortlisted finalists today.

Capita Symonds is sponsor of the Collaboration category of the Awards, which recognise the achievements of outstanding individuals and teams working in all parts of the Civil Service, both in the UK and abroad. They showcase good practice in innovation and improvement and celebrate excellence in public service.

We believe that collaboration - across the public, private and voluntary sectors - will be key to meeting the fiscal challenges ahead and delivering "more for less" in the future...

Shortlisted finalists in the Collaboration category are:

  • Carolyn Webster: Working for Cornwall, Jobcentre Plus
  • Getting it right for every child team: Scottish Government
  • Civil Service West Midlands Vacancies Pilot: Government Office for the West Midlands

Sir Gus O'Donnell, Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Home Civil Service, says: “The awards showcase good practice in innovation and improvement and they celebrate excellence in public service. They are my way of acknowledging success and saying thank you to civil servants who have really made a difference to people’s lives.”

Jonathan Goring, Managing Director Capita Symonds said: “We believe that collaboration - across the public, private and voluntary sectors - will be key to meeting the fiscal challenges ahead and delivering 'more for less' in the future. We are therefore delighted to be a sponsor of this year’s Civil Service Awards, and extend our congratulations to those across the civil service that have been shortlisted.

The Awards ceremony takes place at an evening reception at Buckingham Palace on 11 November.
