Ecologists at Capita
Symonds’ Glamorgan partnership are hosting a public Wildlife
Discovery Day in partnership with Bridgend County Borough Council
on Saturday 05 June (1pm).
The event, which takes place at the Rockwool Insulation Centre,
Pencoed is part of Wales Biodiversity Week (05-13 June) as well as
being a ‘BBC Breathing Spaces’ event. It also has added importance
as 2010 is the UN International Year of Biodiversity.
Sarah Simons, Environment Team Leader, Capita Symonds Glamorgan,
says: “We warmly invite everyone in the area to
come along to participate in the many events taking place on
the day. You can come along for a couple of hours or make a day of
it and bring a picnic as it will be an ideal day out for families
and for children to discover their local wildlife.
“Glamorgan’s ecologists will be leading several events and
hosting a stand with lots of activities for children. Sam Saunders,
our bat specialist, will be bringing in bats for a meet and greet
while our botanist Becky East will be leading a plant walk around
the local common,” she adds.
...it will be an ideal day out for families and children to discover their local wildlife
