Our services are also available to a number of public sector bodies within the immediate geography of Southampton as well as a growing number of private clients.

Key facts

  • Start date: 1st October 2007
  • Duration: 10 years
  • Value: Approximately £290 million
  • Office location: One Guildhall Square, Southampton

Overview

In excess of 130 council employees initially transferred to Capita Symonds and as the partnership has gone from strength to strength our numbers have increased, providing the opportunity to broaden the range of services on offer. Now our team of 150 property staff provide a wide range of multidisciplinary consultancy services.

The partnership presented a significant opportunity for the Council and has received praise from local Councillor Jeremy Moulton, Cabinet Member for Resources: “This partnership with Capita will make it possible for the Council to save the taxpayer millions of pounds over the term of the contract; money which can be put back into front line services. This is a positive way forward for the Council and the City.”

Construction of the new offices at One Guildhall Square has provided a landmark in the new cultural quarter that houses all of Capita Symonds’ Southampton based staff, in addition to other Capita personnel who are committed to the delivery of a variety of services to support the partnership.
