Adapt School Solutions

Our Adapt School Solution offers a fresh approach to delivering high quality, innovative, school buildings that meet the needs of every child and end user.

The methodology delivers fit for purpose school buildings that provide outstanding value for money. Alongside the pioneering new build solution, Adapt explores the potential of unlocking alternative learning spaces within an existing estate for use as valuable educational facilities.

Blueprint proposals are:

  • Converted 2FE primary schools from £750.00/m2
  • Converted 6FE secondary schools from £800.00/m2
  • New build 2FE primary schools from £1,200.00/m2
  • New build 6FE secondary schools from £1,100.00/m2
  • Primary new build is 12% below BB99 and secondary new build is 19% below  BB98.  Both achieve efficient solutions.

The key features include reduced project delivery time; conversion of existing buildings such as offices and commercial buildings into fit for purpose schools; educational spaces that can be adapted to reflect future changes of need and size; and an innovative structural steel solution which means they are not ‘flat-pack’ schools.

Adapt responds to the James Review from the government’s Schools Capital Review team and meets its requirement for streamlining procurement and reducing costs while maintaining quality. Our approach has also been shaped by our outstanding work at Campsmount Technology College in Doncaster, the pilot for the James Review.

Secondary New Build

Efficiently designed for learning and a flexible approach to education, this blueprint design is for a 6 form-entry school, with a roll of 900 11-16 year olds and a sixth form of 180 places.

  • Building Area: 7,008m2 (7,908m2 including Sports Hall)

Primary New Build

Adapt School Solutions Primary New Build

Delivering a quality building which is fit for education, fully flexible and tailored for client requirements. This design is for a 2FE primary school providing spaces for 420 children with a good range of external spaces, including grassed areas.

  • Building Area: 1,957m2
  • Net Construction Cost: from £1,200.00/m2*

Secondary Conversion

Secondary Conversion - Adapt School Solutions

Using the ground floor and levels 3 to 5 of an office block above a shopping centre. This design is for a 6FE 11-18 school with a roll of 900 11-16-year-olds and a sixth form of 180 places. The school design includes innovative external play areas.
