The project
Northcroft has supported
Cancer Research UK (CRUK) for over 25 years delivering
projects across its office, scientific and retail portfolios
including the consolidation of its non-scientific staff
from eight split sites across London into a new 140,000sqft HQ
facility in the award-winning Angel Building,
Islington.
The project was central to the
charity’s long term accommodation strategy and needed to seamlessly
align with extensive redevelopment works in the destination
building and critical milestones associated with their wider real
estate exit strategies.
Northcroft provided CRUK with
programme, procurement and cost management support throughout the
lifecycle of the project which was successfully delivered on time
and in budget. The project created an efficient, flexible and
effective new working environment for CRUK whilst significantly
reducing the charities operational costs and carbon footprint.
Strategic Option Analysis
CRUK was guided through detailed quantitative and qualitative
analysis of project procurement options to identify an optimum
project delivery solution. The analysis took into account total
project costs recognising the commercial impact
of variable real estate and construction related premiums.
Landlord / Developer Liaison
We supported CRUK in technical discussions with the landlord /
developer team exploring construction interface opportunities and
risk mitigation strategies.
Development and implementation of new design
standards
Northcroft supported the client and the design team through a
challenging design development programme, successfully facilitating
the approval and delivery of new design standards within tight
budget constraints.
