The project
A feasibility study into site improvements at Cawthorn
Camps on the North York Moors.
The site comprises a series of Roman encampments,
interpretation, access platforms, footpaths and woodland on this
scheduled monument. The issues included erosion of the scheduled
monument, improving public access, site interpretation and
orientation, ecological management and woodland management.
The study informed the owners (North York Moors National Park
Authority) of current issues and mitigation measures, then selected
options for future improvements which will be included in the sites
Management Plan.
