The project
The Danetree Village proposal forms part of a comprehensive
response to the growth requirements of the East Midlands Regional
Spatial Strategy for the Daventry Sub Regional Centre.
Capita Symonds have provided hydrological and flood risk
consultancy services to the Danetree Village Consortium in order to
support a planning application for 5,150 houses in several phases,
associated education, commercial and community facilities and a
business park of over 15 ha.
Capita Symonds initially contributed to the constraints and
opportunities mapping for the site and provided flood risk and
hydrology data to the project team which facilitated the
development of a sustainable masterplan and allowed flood risk and
hydrological constraints to be reflected in the master plan for the
site.
Following from this we produced a Flood Risk Assessment for the
site and an Environmental Statement chapter which considered,
Hydrology, Drainage and Flood Risk.
In later stages of the project Capita Symonds provided expert
witness advice at Planning Inquiry.
