The project
GeoPortal has been developed as part of the site
investigation of the Olympic Park, commissioned by the London
Development Agency.
The primary aim of the GeoPortal is to provide a secure, online
data warehouse to identify, visualize, interrogate and disseminate
multidisciplinary information gathered during the project.
The website provides a secure, online data warehouse that
enables non-technical users to search, visualise, interrogate and
download factual information gathered during the site investigation
of the Olympic Park.
Capita Symonds developed the website, which integrates ESRI’s
ArcIMS technology as the mapping engine. The site provides
access to nine web maps that contain selected GIS layers, most of
which has been created by Capita Symonds.
The GIS data is integrated with the project programme, derived
from Primavera, a photographic archive and meta database. The meta
database was developed to Olympic Delivery Authority data standards
and provides document search and data download tools.
Capita Symonds hosts the website on behalf of the London
Development Agency, on dedicated servers located in our server
farm.
