Capita Health Partners

An increasing demand for healthcare services, combined with budgetary pressures, means our NHS and wider health sector clients are facing enormous challenges.

We partner with healthcare organisations to transform services and processes, delivering change that supports high quality care and a positive patient experience while simultaneously achieving efficiency savings across all aspects of the organisation.

We power front line services with streamlined, effective infrastructure, estates, technology, business processes, communications and administration. We also bring commercial acumen and insight to help improve operational and financial performance, develop strategic capabilities, maximise income and respond to service changes and growth opportunities.

Our services comprise four areas:

1) Insight

Our insight services, which include market-leading brands such as CHKS, have supported more than 70% of UK trusts over the last 25 years. We are the preferred provider of information and insight services in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and a preferred provider of PROMS to the whole of the NHS. We analyse data from healthcare organisations, patient surveys, staff research and quality assessments to offer insight and drive improvements in health service cost and quality.

Our specific services include:

  • Benchmarking and performance monitoring
  • Business intelligence
  • Quality improvement frameworks and standards
  • Operational excellence and process improvement
  • Staff and patient surveys
  • Coding and financial assurance
  • Healthcare accreditation services
  • Member management services

2) Advisory

Our partnerships with NHS organisations are designed to deliver sustainable change by encouraging innovation and improving safety, quality and value for money. We achieve this through organisational alignment, capability development and results-focused delivery using our proven, industry-leading tools and methodologies. We offer challenge and practical support to clients, harnessing knowledge and creative thinking.

We deliver sustained impact by linking people, innovative thinking and proven change methods/tools across a range of capability areas:

  • Analytics and finance
  • Operational improvement
  • People and change
  • Informatics
  • Estates transformation

We have provided development support to over 40% CCGs while our e-enabled education services have delivered savings of 20% in one project alone. We have achieved a 25% reduction in length of stay for one acute trust as well as identifying over £10m in additional QIPP opportunities for a commissioning organisation.

3) Infrastructure

We can provide you with strategic advice, operational support and long term partnership to help you get the most out of your property and reduce costs by focusing on innovation, prevention and productivity. We have managed and disposed of over £1.5bn of surplus properties and have saved our health sector clients over £85m in property estates and operations costs through a range of innovative and sustainable business models that also help ensure a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.

Our specific services include:

  • Strategic health and financial planning
  • Property management and estate optimisation
  • Programme and project management
  • Multidisciplinary design

4) Performance

Our health performance services support NHS organisations in monitoring and improving operational process performance. By measuring performance from organisational to individual system user level, we can identify and prioritise processes that may lead to inefficiency and risk. Once problem processes are identified and quantified, the next step is to define new procedures and train staff in order to raise and maintain performance. Our dashboards allow real-time visibility of performance against processes, helping to improve both efficiency and reporting accuracy.
