The 2012 event – the 21st
in the series – will be jointly hosted by New Civil Engineer (NCE)
magazine which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this
year.
The lecture will be given by General the Lord Richard Dannatt
GCB CBE, MC DL, British Army Chief of the General Staff 2006-2009
(pictured) who will be discussing the health and safety
lessons which UK industry can learn from the military.
One of the successes of the annual lecture has been its
willingness to explore the subject of health and safety from
different perspectives. Past lecturers have included Sir John
Cullen, then Chairman of the Health and Safety Commission,
Professor Anthony Kelly of Cambridge University, and Lord Woolf,
then Lord Chief Justice.
This year’s event will take place at the Royal College of
Surgeons on Wednesday 26th September from 15.00 to 17.00 and will
be followed by a reception. For further information please contact
