Robin Worthington joins Real Estate division

Robin Worthington has joined Capita Symonds as Associate Director to lead the development of the company’s global real estate consultancy offering.

Robin, the former property director at Cadbury’s and Chair of the CBI’s Property Forum, has over 30 years’ experience in managing large, mixed corporate property portfolios both across the UK and internationally.

His role at Capita Symonds will comprise the development of the company’s global real estate consultancy offering which will support international businesses in aligning their real estate strategy with their corporate strategy, particularly at times of significant change such as during a merger or acquisition.

The focus of the consultancy will be to use real estate as a strategic tool to ensure effective operational integration, as well as specific cost reduction and value creation opportunities. It will also help corporate real estate teams look at how to manage resources and the processes and systems that ensure high performance global team work.

During his time with Cadbury’s Robin was a major contributor to the creation, implementation and management of a £100m facilities management contract; created and actively-managed a £35m p.a. Occupancy Cost Reduction Programme; and created a £250m property disposal programme from scratch.

Robin says: “On leaving Cadbury I was fortunate to have been offered several opportunities, from all sides of the property industry. However, I always felt Capita Symonds was going to play a big part in my future, having been drawn to their strong mix of professionalism, commercialism and personal relationships. I very much look forward getting out there and helping both existing and new Capita Symonds clients to achieve their goals.”

Neil McLocklin, Director of Consulting and Advisory Services, Capita Symonds, says: “Robin is a fantastic asset to our team. His understanding of the role of property in business aligns with our goal to change the rules in property advisory services.”
