Location
London
is one of Europe’s ‘global’ cities being an important financial,
business and cultural centre. As a retailing destination, it serves
not only the resident population but a substantial level of
tourists from both the UK and overseas.
Retail provision is extensive. Within
London PMA identifies eight key submarkets: Oxford Street; Covent
Garden; Regent Street; Bond Street, Knightsbridge, King Road, City
of London and Kensington High Street.
Kensington is comparable with premier
shopping destinations such as Richmond Upon Thames. A key
attraction of Kensington High Street is the critical mass of
large/flagship branches of key middle and upper middle quality
fashion stores surrounded by an extremely affluent residential
area.
The last survey in 2010 showed a
vacancy rate of 4.1% of the units, well below the PROMIS average
and a marked fall on the 2009 level. It is also below the Central
London average.
Situation
The

side of
Kensington High Street at its junction with Adam & Eve
Mews.
High Street Kensington underground station is located within a very
close
distance to the east, as is Barker’s Arcade and the substantial
Whole Foods
store. Kensington Church Street is within a few minutes walk,
leading up
to the busy and fashionable Notting Hill area.
Nearby occupiers include Tesco Metro, Russell & Bromley, Muji,
Aldo, Kurt
Geiger, Cos and Massimo Dutti.
There are numerous bus routes leading in and out of the nearby West
End
and Knightsbridge to the east, and highly concentrated affluent
residential
areas to the west including Fulham, Earls Court and
Hammersmith.
Both the A40 and M4 motorways can be easily reached from
Kensington,
and the area is within reach of a substantial catchment to the west
of
London.
